President Pranab Mukherjee conferred honorary doctorate by Jordanian university

AMMAN: An honorary doctorate in political science was today conferred on President Pranab Mukherjee by the University of Jordan for his 50 years of service to the Indian people and the humankind.

Mukherjee, who is the Visitor of 114 institutions of higher education in India, was conferred the degree at the university campus in the presence of 500 people, mostly students.

The President, who is going to Palestine and Israel from tomorrow, will be conferred honorary degrees by universities in these two countries also, which will be a unique distinction.
