Eight men have been booked in the case. The animal was stated to be pregnant at the time when the alleged assault took place.

Eight men have been booked in the case. The animal was stated to be pregnant at the time when the alleged assault took place and died soon after. According to local police officials, the crime reportedly took place on July 25 late evening at Maroda village. Officials believe that all the accused were intoxicated at the time.
While three of the accused have been identified, police officials are yet to identify the remaining five. They have been booked under various sections of the IPC including Section 377 (unnatural offences) and Section 429 (mischief by killing or maiming cattle). Sections of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act have also been included in the FIR registered on July 26 after receiving a complaint from the owner of the goat.
"A postmortem was conducted at the local government veterinary hospital. Samples containing the animal's swab have been sent to the state forensic laboratory at Madhuban," an official said.
The SHO added that although they have registered a case under unnatural offences and other related charges, the exact details of the offence would be known only after they receive the forensic report. Narrating the alleged assault on the animal, Aslu, the complainant who is a shepherd, stated that one of his goats had gone missing on Wednesday. During a search, he came upon the animal being sexually violated by some youths.
When he confronted them, the apparently intoxicated men threatened him with committing such acts with all his animals. They even claimed that the police could not do anything to them. The complainant confirmed that the goat was pregnant at the time of the assault.
A medical test of the goat will soon be conducted after which the police will take an action against those accused.
