'Pravin deserves to be hanged'

Special public prosecutor Nitin Pradhan also rubbished the defence advocate's claims that Mahajan had died due to "accidental firing."

MUMBAI: The prosecution has sought death for Pravin in the Pramod Mahajan murder trial. Pravin is alleged to have shot his brother Pramod Mahajan, the then BJP general secretary, at his Worli residence on April 22, 2006. Special public prosecutor Nitin Pradhan also rubbished the defence advocate's claims that Mahajan had died due to "accidental firing."

"Pravin did not think of providing medical aid to Mahajan after he had been shot. Pravin's car was parked downstairs yet he went straight to the police station leaving Mahajan to bleed to death. This shows his intention to kill," said Pradhan. "Pravin deserves hanging and nothing less," Pradhan said.

Pradhan stated that the defence theory of "accidental firing" was fabricated.
