Praveen Togadia demands immediate implementation of Uniform Civil Code

RANCHI: VHP leader Praveen Tagodia today demanded immediate implementation of Uniform Civil Code in the country.

Welcoming the Supreme Court's recent queries on the situation of Muslim women, four marriages under Muslim Personal Law and divorce, the international president of Vishwa Hindu Parishad said time has come to adhere to SC's decision and end discrimination against Muslim women.

"It is a basic fundamental right in a modern state that Uniform Civil Code should be implemented with immediate effect.

"Nobody should be threatened in the name of Sharia," Togadia, who is here in connection with RSS' three-day executive, told reporters.
