Pranab Mukherjee to embark on two-day visit to West Bengal from tomorrow

NEW DELHI: President Pranab Mukherjee will embark on a two-day visit to West Bengal from tomorrow to inaugurate the 150th birth anniversary celebration of renowned educationist Acharya Satis Chandra Mukherjee and participate in another function.

He will also deliver the Sir Ashutosh Mookerjee memorial lecture to mark his 150th birth anniversary on the same day, said a statement issued by Rashtrapati Bhavan today.

Mookerjee was Vice Chancellor of University of Calcutta between March 31, 1906 and March 30, 1914 and then from April, 4, 1921 to April 3, 1923.

The President will return to New Delhi on Friday, it said.
