Prajwal Revanna Viral Video: How driver's leaked video created nataka in Karnataka politics before Lok Sabha elections

In a dramatic turn of events, Karnataka's political landscape has been disrupted by a scandal involving a prominent political family. The raecent revelation of sex video tapes, allegedly implicating now-suspended Hassan JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna, has sent shockwaves through the state.

The genesis of this controversy traces back to a simmering dispute within the inner circle of former PM H D Deve Gowda's son H D Revanna's family. It all began to unfold in June 2023 when Karthik, a trusted aide who played various roles within the Revanna family, decided to challenge the established order, a TOI report stated.

As per TOI report, at the heart of the issue lies a 16-acre piece of land situated in the ancestral village of the Deve Gowda clan in Holenarsipura. This land, a symbol of familial heritage and political stronghold, became the focal point of contention between Karthik and the Revanna family.


Tensions escalated when Karthik, feeling marginalized, lodged a complaint in December 2023, alleging coercion by Prajwal and his mother to hand over the land. Subsequently, a series of events unfolded, shedding light on the clandestine activities within the Deve Gowda lineage.

Insiders from the JD(S) revealed that Karthik had access to Prajwal's mobile phone, through which he purportedly recorded the incriminating videos. Initially shared on his personal device, these videos became tools of blackmail after Karthik's fallout with the family.

Seeking recourse, Karthik approached advocate and BJP functionary G Devarajegowda, further escalating the situation. In response, the Revanna family sought legal action against several media outlets and individuals, alleging a campaign to spread false information.

Despite allegations and counter-allegations, Devarajegowda maintained his stance of refraining from releasing the videos, citing concerns for privacy and dignity. However, political rivals seized the opportunity to exploit the situation, orchestrating a widespread dissemination of the tapes ahead of the recent elections.

In the aftermath of these developments, the Karnataka government formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the matter. However, Prajwal's departure for Frankfurt, Germany, just a day before the formation of the SIT, has added a layer of complexity to the ongoing investigation.
