Power crisis has hit key sectors: Karunanidhi

DMK chief M Karunanidhi today alleged that the power shortage in Tamil Nadu had severely affected key sectors including agriculture and small industries.

CHENNAI: DMK chief M Karunanidhi today alleged that the power shortage in Tamil Nadu had severely affected key sectors including agriculture and small industries and said the issue will be discussed in detail at the meeting of the party's Executive, to be chaired by him, on December 13.

"In the AIADMK rule, agriculture, small industries and commerce, which aid the livelihood of people, have been severely affected which is pulling the economy down. It is time we took this to people," he said in a letter to partymen.

Power cut extended as much as to 18 hours in many parts of the state, he claimed and charged the government with showing little care to solve the problem.
