PUDUCHERRY: A senior research fellow in Department of Physics in Pondicherry University has been selected for the coveted `Robert S.Hilbert Students Travel Grant` of the Optical Society of America (OSA).

Assistant Registrar of the University K.Mahesh said in a release here today that K Nityanandan, a Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) `s Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Physics in the University has been awarded $ 1100 under the category of Robert S Hilbert Students Travel Grant of the OSA.

The award is in recognition of Nityanandan`s excellence in research in optic engineering, lens design and illumination design, the release said.

It is part of the OSA foundation and is aimed at supporting research excellence of student in areas of optical engineering.
