Pon Radhakrishnan hails Maithripala Sirisena victory

MADURAI: Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, Shipping Pon Radhakrishnan today hailed the outcome of Sri Lankan Presidential election and congratulated Maithripala Sirisena for his victory.

Commenting on the result, he said here that those responsible for the killing of Tamils in Sri Lanka has been punished by the people there and while those who supported them in India have also been defeated, indirectly referring to Congress rout in the Lok Sabha polls.

The Minister was here to launch the ' Clean India campaign' at the Integrated bus stand at Mattuthavani here.

Radhakrishnan sought the cooperation of the state government in the expansion of the Colachel Port in Kanyakumari district and also Kanyakumari port, which he said, would benefit both the state and country.
