Polluting units face AMC ire

AHMEDABAD: The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has come out against illegal connections to sewerage lines by industrial units. It has booked six industrial units for illegally releasing effluents in the main line as well as 1400 mm domestic line passing from Jashoda Chowkdi to Pirana pipeline.

AMC has aggressively undertaken a drive against release of effluent to municipal corporation-owned mega drainage line after repeated complaints of overflow. AMC has formed four teams, each led by additional city engineer, for finding out illegal connections.
