November 11 has been fixed as the last date for filing of nominations, scrutiny of which will be done on November 12. The last date for the withdrawal of candidatures is November 14.
Counting of votes will be done on December 8. The term of the present Legislative Assembly of Delhi is expiring on December 17.
Election Commission officials said over 10,000 polling stations will be set-up through out the city to enable the voters to exercise their franchise.
The elections will be conducted on the basis of the electoral rolls revised with reference to January one, 2008 as the qualifying date and prepared in accordance with constituencies newly delimited by the Delimitation Commission, election officials said.
The final figure of the total electorate is not yet been announced by the Election Commission.
The BJP has declared the first list of 53 candidates retaining all 19 sitting MLAs. The Congress has also finalised candidates in over 50 seats but no formal announcement has been made as sources said the party was again thinking on it.
