Poll alliance? 50,000 Congress workers killed during CPI(M) rule: Mamata Banerjee
KOLKATA: Launching a scathing attack against Congress, chief minister Mamata Banerjee today said that the people will never forgive the party for joining hands with CPM. "50,000 Congress workers were killed in Bengal during CPM rule. But they have no problem entering into an alliance with them. They are Na Ghar Ka, Na Ghat Ka," Banerjee said while addressing an election rally in Murshidabad, the strong hold of Congress.

"We have not forgotten state sponsored incidents at Netai, Amta, Nanoor, Singur, Nandigram, Bantala, Dhantala and other places,"she said in the meeting.

Mocking the CPM for allying with Congress she adds, "Earlier we heard CPM leaders discussing Marx baad and Lenin baad. Now they only discuss Congress baad."

Significantly, Banerjee started her election campaign with two of the Congress dominated districts --Malda and Murshidabad. "Will committed Congress workers vote for CPI(M)? Will Leftists vote for the hand symbol?" she asked the people in Murshidabad.

Taking a dig at CPM, she further added, "I have started campaigning when the comrades are yet to decide on their candidates. I am challenging them. Catch me if you can."
