GUWAHATI: What is expected to keep politicians at bay from the school management committees, Assam government has issued guidelines where management committee will be headed by graduates. Those contested panchayat level/parliament or assembly election in last 20 years cannot be president/vice president of the committee.

Announcing that over 4000 school management and development committees (SMDCs) stands dissolved, Assam education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday said, “ The government notification of August 6 2014 does not laid down any criteria of selection of the president/vice presidents of the SMDCs including uniform qualification.”
