Political parties should come out with annual reports: Infosys Chairman Emeritus N R Narayan Murthy

MUMBAI: Infosys Chairman Emeritus N R Narayan Murthy today asked political parties to bring out annual reports on their activities on the lines of corporates to bring in greater transparency in the system.

"Every political party must come out with an annual report on their activities like their performance, welfare and development activities as well about their members and electoral candidates etc," he said addressing an interactive session organised by Aspen Institute here.

Stating that there is a need for reforms in businesses and also political parties, Murthy said taking care of the society is a common responsibility.

The comments from the IT czar come at a time when there have been vocal calls from civil society for greater transparency in the way various government departments and bureaucrats are functioning.
