Apparently, Nepalese youths first organised large-scale protests and demonstrations via Discord, and then through a poll on the social media platform elected Sushila Karki as Nepal's first female prime minister. Surprisingly, the chat app has also surfaced in the Charlie Kirk's killing case. Concurrently, Albania has inducted an AI-powered minister, Diella, which is designed to fight corruption and bring transparency to public spending. Hey Edi Rama!

Outwardly, Nepal has achieved an Everestian feat by electing its PM through online voting. But so many questions remain unanswered - who all voted and from where; whether the 'one person, one vote' norm was followed; whether the exercise was based on universal adult suffrage; and whether every eligible voter had the option to vote? It's clear though that discord and concord happened on the same platform.

If an apple of discord in Greek mythos set off events that culminated in the Trojan War, in Nepal it led to the rise of Karki and in the US it resulted in Divided States of America and Kirk's assassination. Better, beware of Eris!

Despite so much chaos and confusion in some parts of the sphere, there is a new sunrise in Albania. While Diella has helped the Balkan state hog global limelight, Edi Rama may succeed in delivering yet another message to the international community if his government allows creation of a sovereign Muslim state in Tirana, modelled on the lines of the Vatican in Rome, for the Bektashi religious order, a Sufi tradition.

The contrast between Nepal and Albania is striking. While both have troubled past, Albania is making big strides in many spheres, but Nepal's governance is yet to stabilise. Every now and then instability raises its head in the Himalayan state. Apropos of America, it's going through Trumpian Times.
