Police seeks remand of Delhi University lecturer SAR Geelani to 'probe conspiracy'
NEW DELHI: Delhi police while seeking the remand of former Delhi University lecturer SAR Geelani claimed that "a joint interrogation of Geelani is required" by various agencies "to unearth the larger conspiracy" behind the anti-India activities.

The court granted two days police remand for Geelani who has been booked under the charges of sedition as cops said that they are examining the recordings of event organised at the Press Club to identify others. Geelani was produced at the Patiala House court amidst tight security as cops feared that the right wing group may try to create ruckus.

"Geelani was arrested around 3 am at the Parliament Street police station under IPC sections 124 A (sedition), 120 B (criminal conspiracy) and 149 (unlawful assembly)," said DCP (New Delhi) Jatin Narwal. He was called to the police station at 10 pm on Monday.
