Police today arrested one of the main accused in 2011 Gopalgarh violence in Bharatpur district in which ten people were killed in a dispute over a piece of land.

JAIPUR: Police today arrested one of the main accused in 2011 Gopalgarh violence in Bharatpur district in which ten people were killed in a dispute over a piece of land.

Following a tip off, a police team nabbed Mubin Mev, carrying a cash reward of Rs 10,000 on his head, from his house, Gopalgarh SHO Shyam Sundar said.

He will be handed over to CBI tomorrow, police said. Ten people were killed and nearly two dozen people were injured in a violent clash between two communities in a dispute over a piece of land in Gopalgarh on September 14, 2011.

Police have arrested several accused and 24 are still absconding with each of them having a cash reward of Rs 10,000 on their head, Sundar said.
