Nandigram: The CBI, which is probing the March 14 police firing last year that left 14 persons dead in Nandigram, today questioned Trinamool Congress MLA from Contai Subhendu Adhikari in connection with the case.

This is the second time that Adhikari has been questioned in connection with the March 14 clash between police and the anti-land acquisition Bhumi Ucched Pratirodh Committee (BUPC).

The CPI(M) has accused Adhikari of being involved in procuring and supplying arms to the Trinamool Congress-backed BUPC in Nandigram. Adhikari said the CPI(M) had illegally tapped his phone and the accusations against him were baseless.
