Pokhran II was successful, says Rudy
BJP dismissed outright the controversy over the success of Pokhrani-II nuclear test and claimed that the test carried out during Atal Bihari Vajpayee led NDA rule was a successful.
The Pokhran-II controversy was uncalled for and why it was being created after 10 years, asked Rajiv Pratap Rudy, National Spokesman of BJP, here today.
Addressing a press conference here, Rudy, who was on a personal visit to the steel city, said in the backdrop of incursions by China, any attempt to challenge India's nuclear capabilities is against the interest of the country and BJP dismissed such controversies outright.
Rudy said former Prime Minister Vajpayee ji was credited for this bold step and the entire world was awed at the success of nuclear test.
He asked if the Pokhran-II was not a success, than why would the US, which was supposed to having great know-how about nuclear affairs, imposed economic sanction following the test and what prompted Pakistan to follow the suit by conducted nuclear tests.
This amply proved that Pokharan-II was a great success, Rudy claimed.
