CHENNAI: Ahead of Deepavali next month, PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss today urged the Tamil Nadu government to give 25 per cent bonus to employees of State Public Sector Undertakings, including in the transport sector.

"Tamil Nadu government should give 25 per cent bonus without wage-ceiling for all employees under the State Public Sector undertakings including those in transport corporations," he said here in a statement.

He said all the employees including temporary workers should get the bonus and added that such staffers belonged mostly to the lower strata of the society.

"Only if advance (payment) and bonus is given well ahead of the festival would the employees be able to prepare for it," he said and urged disbursal of payment within this week.
