Union Minister V Narayanasamy said he would submit a report on his visit to Kudankulam in Tamil Nadu and his interaction with protesters against the nuclear power project after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh returns from New York next week.

NEW DELHI: Union Minister V Narayanasamy today said he would submit a report on his visit to Kudankulam in Tamil Nadu and his interaction with protesters against the nuclear power project after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh returns from New York next week.

He said a final call on the project which is ready for operations would be taken by Singh.

"I have no authority to take any decision on the issue. I just acted as a postman. I conveyed the prime minister's views to Chief Minister Jayalalithaa. I also briefed him about my discussions with her," he told reporters here.

He will take a final call, Narayanasamy said when asked about the Tamil Nadu cabinet decision seeking a halt to the project.

The Tamil Nadu government yesterday resolved to request the Centre to stop work on the Kudankulam project till the fears of the people in the region are addressed.
