PM to be discharged by weekend: Docs
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who has shown better than expected recovery since his coronary by-pass surgery last week, is likely to be out of the hospital on Friday, his doctors said on Thursday.
���He will be discharged in another day or two, depending on his condition,��� one of the doctors attending on him was quoted as saying by news agencies.
Doctors are reviewing Mr Singh���s line of treatment daily at internal meetings.
He has shown better than expected recovery, a doctor said. All the intensive care unit equipment used for monitoring the prime minister���s various health parameters has been removed and he has been shifted to an adjacent room.
The decision to shift him out of the ICU was taken by a team of doctors which included his personal physician K S Reddy and redo bypass surgeon Ramakant Panda from Mumbai���s Asian Heart Institute (AHI).
Dr Vijay D���Silva, an ICU specialist also from AHI and attending on Mr Singh, said the VVIP patient ���was making speedy recovery in the expected timeframe.���
So far, only his family is allowed to meet him.
