NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi tonight discussed the issues related to Indo-US nuclear deal with senior leaders of the party.

The meeting took place soon after the UPA-Left Committee meeting which failed to end the deadlock between the two sides on the issue.

Besides Singh and Gandhi, the meeting was attended by External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Defence Minister A K Antony and Congress President's political secretary Ahmed Patel.

Mukherjee and Antony are understood to have apprised the party leadership about the deliberations of the UPA-Left committee meeting.

Unable to break the deadlock, the UPA-Left committee decided to finalise the findings of the panel at the next meeting.
