PM Manmohan Singh is recuperating and might be discharged on Monday after his prostrate surgery at AIIMS.

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is recuperating and might be discharged on Monday after his prostrate surgery at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here, medical sources said.

"The prime minister is getting better very fast. The doctors have advised him to take soft foods like soups," said a source at AIIMS on Sunday.

The doctors are not allowing anyone other than his family members to visit him at the hospital.

"His cabinet colleagues have been sending him 'get well soon' messages and flowers. But no one is being allowed to visit him," the source added.

Manmohan Singh is likely to be discharged from the hospital Monday.

A team of doctors led by N.P. Gupta, head of the department of urology at AIIMS, conducted the operation Saturday to treat benign enlargement of the prostrate.
