PM Narendra Modi's wife Jashodaben 'unhappy' over security cover, files RTI to seek details from government
Jashodaben Modi, wife of PM Modi, on Monday filed an application under the Right to Information Act seeking information on the security assigned to her.

Speaking to ET, Jashodaben’s brother Ashok Modi said she is yet to get any facility that might be due to her apart from security. “It has been six months and she has got nothing in terms of facility that is due to a VVIP and that is why we have filed the RTI,” Modi told ET. “The commandos who are deployed to provide security also do not give us anything in writing,” he said. “If we ask for the details, they only give us a phone number,” he added.
He pointed out that while Jashodaben travels in public transport, her security trails her in an air conditioned sedan car. “Today we travelled from Unjha to Mehsana in my Activa scooter while they followed us in a car,” he said. The application filed has invoked the “life and liberty” clause of the Right to Information Act and sought information within 48 hours.
The application primarily seeks details of the security drill apart from seeking details on facilities she might be eligible for as the wife of the PM. Citing the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi by her own body guards, Jasodhaben’s application says she feels her security is too weak and has sought the details of the personnel as well as a copy of the order of their deployment.
