PM Narendra Modi's praise for Raghuram Rajan pointless: Congress
NEW DELHI: The Congress on Monday dismissed PM Narendra Modi’s praise for RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan as meaningless and asked why he chose to remain silent when BJP leader Subramanian Swamy was launching attacks on Rajan.

“We all know how PM Modi had chosen to remain silent when his own party colleague Subramanian Swamy was launching series of public attack on the RBI Governor and forced his exit,” AICC spokesperson Kapil Sibal said here . On Modi’s remarks that GST Bill will benefit the poor and there “is only one political party” blocking its passage, Sibal said, “does the PM think so much about the poor? If so, instead of going to US seven times, Modi should have met up poor farmers only once in Marathwada – just once.”
