PM Narendra Modi wishes FIFA World Cup finalists
BERLIN: Though he declined to watch the World Cup football final, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today wished all the best to both the finalists -- Argentina and Germany.

Modi was invited by Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff last month to watch the final played at Rio de Janeiro.

"Best wishes to Argentina & Germany for the FIFA World Cup Final. It is amazing how the tournament brought fans across the world together," Modi tweeted ahead of the final.

Modi arrived here amidst light drizzle for an overnight halt en route to Brazil for participation in the sixth summit of the five-nation grouping BRICS.

"Reached Berlin en route to Brazil to attend BRICS Summit," Modi tweeted on his arrival here.

Modi was received at the airport by Indian Ambassador to Germany Vijay Gokhale and senior officials from the German Foreign Ministry.
