PM Narendra Modi was never scheduled to visit Davos: Government
NEW DELHI: Government today said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was not scheduled to travel to Davos for World Economic Forum meeting, debunking reports that he has decided to skip the visit to "avoid" a meeting with Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

"The Prime Minister was never scheduled to visit Davos so where is the question of cancellation," External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Vikas Swarup said when asked about reports that Modi was to travel to the Swiss town.

According to reports, the Prime Minister has decided to skip a visit to Davos for the WEF meeting, where India had indicated to the organisers he would travel and where he was expected to meet Sharif.
