“From there the Prime Minister will fly to Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh where he is likely to inaugurate the eastern peripheral expressway (EPE) and address a public gathering,” the official added.

The eastern peripheral expressway and phase on of Delhi-Meerut expressway, to be inaugurated by Modi, have been built by the central government to decongest the capital city and adjoining areas.
After the inauguration of phase one of Delhi-Meerut expressway, the Prime Minister is also likely to hold a road show which is scheduled to start from Akshardham temple on the expressway and end just before the Delhi-UP border, road transport and highways ministry officials said.

Phase one of the Delhi-Meerut expressway is almost 9 km long and have 14 lanes. It runs from Nizammudin bridge to Delhi-UP border. The remaining parts of the 96 km long expressways are likely to be completed by 2019-2020
The 135-km-long EPE, built at a cost of Rs 11,000 crore, envisages signal-free connectivity between Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Greater Noida and Palwal and ultimately decongest the national capital.
