SHIMLA: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Himachal Pradesh next year to dedicate three hydropower projects and lay foundation of some other important projects in the state, BJP leader and former chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said here today.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi would visit Himachal Pradesh in last week of January or first Week of February next year to dedicate the Kol Dam (800 MW), Parvati Stage-III (520 MW) and Rampur (412 MW) hydropower projects, commissioned during past two years, and also lay the foundation of some other important projects, he said after his meeting with the Prime Minister.

Dhumal said he had apprised the Prime Minister of the projects commissioned in the past and those in the offing, and requested him to dedicate them to the people and lay the foundation of buildings of projects of Central University in Kangra and Hydro University in Bilaspur.

The BJP leader thanked the Prime Minister for granting special status to Himachal Pradesh with 90 per cent central assistance in centrally sponsored schemes and accepting the demand of "one rank, one pension".

He also urged him to take up necessary steps for execution of Bhanupali-Mandi-Leh railway line, which has strategic importance.
