The former Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand chief minister said he still have hopes from him that Modi would get a grand memorial built in her memory.
Tewari was praised Modi for improving ties with China and said, "he needs to be welcomed for improving relations with China...it is a welcome move."
When asked about Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav repeatedly speaking about danger from China, Tewari, who shares a good rapport with Yadav, said "I understand that by saying so, he stresses on improving security on the borders with the neighbouring country."
Welcoming the sacking of 72 advisors and chairmen with minister of state status by the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, Tewari said "no such appointment should have been made in the first place and now that they have been sacked I welcome it".
