PM Narendra Modi may meet Cameron in UK on Nov 12

LONDON: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has finally confirmed his maiden visit to Britain. Modi will stop over in London for three days around November 12 on his way to Turkey to attend the G20 leader's summit in Antalya scheduled for November 15 and 16.

Top sources in the government told TOI that Modi will meet UK PM David Cameron. The possibility for him to meet Queen Elizabeth is also being worked out by UK and India's foreign office. The dates were finalized by India's foreign secretary S Jaishankar who met his British counterpart Sir Simon Fraser. Jaishankar who was in UK last week also met up with minister of state in the foreign office for India Hugo Swire and Britain's national security advisor Sir Nigel Kim Darroch.

One of the events being planned during the trip is a Madison Square Garden-style meet at Wembley Stadium.
