PM Narendra Modi making no headway in Delhi: Madhusudan Mistry
AHMEDABAD: Congress general secretary Madhusudan Mistry today said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi may have been "king" in Gujarat but he was not making any "headway" in Delhi.

"Bhai (Narendra Modi) is not able to make any headway in Delhi. He might have been king in Gujarat but in Delhi things are different. Only his partymen listen to him but others are not following him," Mistry said here.

"He is afraid of being in Rajya Sabha. He was not ready to take questions after his speech in the Rajya Sabha after which the united opposition's amendment to the motion of thanks on President's speech was passed by majority vote," Mistry said.

Mistry was speaking at a function here where the new Gujarat Congress chief Bharatsinh Solanki took charge.

Mistry lost the Lok Sabha election against Modi from Vadodara in 2014.

Another Congress general secretary and Gujarat in-charge of the party, Gurudas Kamat, said in the nine months people had come to know the reality of Modi government.

"The recent budget had nothing for the poor and the middle class which supported Modi...only relief they have given is to the corporate world, by reducing corporate tax by five per cent," Kamat said.
