PM Modi, who had to cancel his scheduled trip to his parliamentary constituency on June 28 due to heavy rainfall, is now likely to visit on July 16.

VARANASI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who had to cancel his scheduled trip to his parliamentary constituency on June 28 due to heavy rainfall, is now likely to visit on July 16.

Union Minister of Tourism Mahesh Sharma, who is here to attend special sit-in at PM's parliamentary office to hear public grievances, said that "PM Modi is likely to visit Varanasi on July 16".

During the visit, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate a Trauma Centre at Banaras Hindu University and launch the Integrated Power Development scheme.

Apart from this, he will lay foundation stone for a ring road project, give nod for four laning of a road and also address a rally here.

An official at the Additional District Magistrate (protocol) office said that they have received an intimation (rpt intimation) that PM may visit Varanasi on July 16.
