BHOPAL: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to inaugurate the World Hindi Conference at the state capital from September 10 to September 12, while Amitabh Bachchan will participate in the concluding function, Minister of State for External Affairs V K Singh said here today.

"We are hopeful that the Prime Minister will take part in the inaugural function of the World Hindi Conference to be held here from September 10 to September 12," Singh told reporters after reviewing preparations for the mega event.

"Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will grace the concluding function on September 12," he said.

When asked about Amitabh Bachchan's participation in the conference, the minister said, "Amitabh Bachchan will be special guest on September 12 and address the gathering on how to attract youths towards Hindi".

Participants from countries where Hindi is spoken are being invited for the event.

Registration is on for the conference and the final number of participants will be revealed on August 31, when Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj would address a press conference on the issue in New Delhi, he said.
