NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today greeted the people of Bhutan on their National Day.

"On their National Day, I convey my greetings to the people of Bhutan and extend my best wishes for the development journey of Bhutan," he tweeted.

"We cherish our long-standing friendship with Bhutan. Experienced the warm nature of people of Bhutan during my visit," the Prime Minister said.

Bhutan was the first country Modi visited after becoming the Prime Minister in May, displaying the special treatment to the neighbouring country.
