PM Narendra Modi greets former PM Vajpayee on his 91st birthday

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today greeted former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee on his 91st birthday hailing him as a leader who distingushed himself in every role.

"Birthday greetings to our beloved Atal ji. We salute this great personality who provided exceptional leadership to India at a crucial time," the PM tweeted.

Modi, who is on a visit to Afghanistan, said he would meet Vajpayee after coming back to Delhi this evening.

"After landing in Delhi this evening, will head straight to Atal ji's residence and wish him personally," Modi said on the social networking site.

He said, "Be it as a party leader, Parliamentarian, Minister, Prime Minister, Atal ji distinguished himself in every role. This is his speciality."
