PM Narendra Modi condoles death of former J&K Governor S K Sinha

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today condoled the death of Lt Gen (retd) S K Sinha, former Governor of Jammu and Kashmir and Assam, and said his service to the nation will always be remembered.

"Deeply saddened to learn of the demise of Lt Gen (retd) Srinivas K Sinha, former Governor of J&K and Assam," Modi tweeted.

Sinha passed away at a hospital here this morning after brief illness. He was 92.

He was first admitted to the base hospital here on November 1 with a fracture in his femur bone and ribs and was later shifted to the R and R hospital after some complications developed.

Sinha had resigned from service after the government superseded him and appointed General A S Vaidya as the new army chief.
