PM Narendra Modi breaks protocol to hug a 4-year-old girl in Surat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi surprised a 4-year-old girl when he stopped his car midway to hug her while on a tour in Gujarat's Surat district.

In a video that has gone viral, the girl, Nancy Gondalia, is seen hesitantly rushing towards Modi's cavalcade but was stopped by SPG commandos.

The girl was called back and taken by the security men to the Prime Minister, who was seen hugging and saying a few words before sending her back to her parents.

Modi, according to reports, asked her name and time, pointing towards her watch. The prime minister is on a a 2-day visit to Gujarat. The state goes to polls later this year.
