The discussions will be held on December 13 and 14 in the Lok Sabha, and on December 16 and 17 in the Rajya Sabha, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah ready to lead the discussion in the Upper House on December 16.
The decision came amid a series of parliamentary sessions. The end to the parliamentary stalemate came after Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla chaired an all-party meeting last week.
The ongoing winter session of the parliament began on November 25, but has been filled with constant adjournments, with little progress made in the first weeks.
The session will continue until December 20 and is expected to shift focus to the upcoming debate on the 75th anniversary of the Indian Constitution.
Opposition agenda
However, the Opposition has raised concerns over potential amendments to the Constitution. The fear arises after recent statements from prominent BJP leaders. This has speculated a possible changes to the nation's legal framework.Additionally, Trinamool Congress (TMC) MPs will focus on the ongoing atrocities against minority communities, particularly Hindus, in Bangladesh. The party has expressed deep concern over the violence and is calling on the Centre to take stronger action in addressing the situation.
Further, Samajwadi Party (SP) MPs are planning to raise the issue of the recent violence in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. The party is expected to demand accountability for the incident and push for a fair investigation into the matter.
The Congress party will continue its focus on the Adani issue, which has been a central point of its criticism of the government.
While Congress has concentrated its efforts on the Adani controversy, TMC leaders are planning to broaden their criticism, highlighting a range of pressing issues such as unemployment, inflation, and alleged fiscal discrimination against opposition-ruled states.
