PM Modi ‘Mayavi’; don’t vote for him: Lalu Prasad Yadav
VARANASI: Terming Prime Minister Narendra Modi ‘mayavi (illusionist)’, Rashtriya Janata Dal chief and former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad appealed to voters to teach a lesson to BJP in Varanasi in this election. He said UP voters should take a lesson from neighbouring Bihar, which had rejected BJP in 2015 assembly polls.

Prasad on Monday campaigned for the SP-Congress alliance and addressed a well-attended meeting in Varanasi North’s Bunkar Colony, which has a high concentration of weaver community.

Congress general secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad, in charge of the UP Congress Committee, was also present at the meeting. Prasad said the BJP is nervous after seeing support for the SPCongress alliance.

He appealed to voters to solidly back the Congress candidate Samad Ansari in Varanasi North seat in this election.

“Rajnitik sanskar ka time inka aa gaya hai (This is time for his political sanskar),” RJD chief Lalu Prasad said, reminding voters about the PM’s statement that Mother Ganga had called him to Varanasi.
