PM Modi inaugurates 17 projects around Statue of Unity in Kevadia colony

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated 17 projects around the Statue of Unity (SOU) in Kevadia colony on the first day of his two-day visit to his home state Gujarat on Friday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated 17 projects around the Statue of Unity (SOU) in Kevadia colony on the first day of his two-day visit to his home state Gujarat on Friday. After arriving in Ahmedabad, Modi went to Gandhinagar to pay homage to veteran BJP leader Keshubhai Patel, who had succumbed to ill health on Thursday morning. The PM also visited the house of famous Gujarati actor-singer brothers Mahesh and Naresh Kanodia, who had passed away recently.

He later went to the SOU at Kevadia Colony and inaugurated projects pertaining to tourism development in the area, including Jungle Safari, Ekta Mall, Children’s Nutrition Park and Glow Garden, and launched the Kevadia Mobile App and website in all United Nations languages. The Ekta Mall is a special store constructed near SoU where tourists can buy handloom and handicraft products belonging to different states.

The PM also laid foundation stones for government quarters, administrative building, SRP quarters and Adarsh Gram. He is scheduled to inaugurate the seaplane service from Kevadia to Sabarmati in Ahmedabad on Saturday on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
