PM Modi government neglects national leaders: Congress

SHILLONG: Congress today alleged that the Narendra Modi government was neglecting national leaders and their contributions to the country, but the people would not forget them.

"The NDA government is ignoring the national leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, but people will not forget them," AICC General Secretary in-charge of North East V Narayanasamy told reporters here.

He said Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi as former Prime Ministers, have served this nation for long years.

"They have sacrificed themselves to keep the unity and integrity of this country. They also crushed terrorism.

"The present NDA government ignored the death anniversary of former Prime Minister on October 31, this year," he said.

To a question, he said Congress had never ignored national leaders like Sardar Vallabhai Patel for his contribution and untiring efforts towards the unity of the country.

Narayanasamy, who was also accompanied by AICC Secretary in charge NE Vijay Lakshmi Sadho, said he would strengthen the party in Meghalaya.
