Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrates his 74th birthday today, marking another significant year in his long public service career. Though a working day for the Prime Minister, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is once again observing the day through the annual 'Seva Parv,' which highlights his focus on public welfare. PM Modi, born on September 17, 1950, in Mehsana, Gujarat, has led as the Chief Minister of Gujarat for three terms and is currently serving his third term as India's Prime Minister.

PM Modi's Birthday Celebrations in Recent Years


In recent years, PM Modi's birthdays have often been marked by large-scale initiatives.


In 2023, he launched the PM Vishwakarma Yojana to support artisans through skill development. He also inaugurated the India International Convention and Expo Centre and extended the Delhi Airport Express line. Supporters in his constituency celebrated with a 73-kg laddoo cake and an 'Akhand Ramayan Path' at a local temple.

In 2022, he oversaw the reintroduction of cheetahs to India at Kuno National Park as part of the Cheetah Reintroduction Project. The cheetahs were brought from Namibia, and PM Modi personally photographed the event.

In 2021, amid the Covid-19 pandemic, India set a record by administering 2.26 crore vaccine doses on his birthday.

In 2020, the pandemic curtailed traditional celebrations, but the BJP organized 'Sewa Saptah,' which included ration distribution and blood donation drives.

In 2019, PM Modi attended the 'Namami Narmada' festival in Gujarat, commemorating the Narmada dam reaching its full reservoir level.

This year, BJP workers and volunteers are conducting cleanliness drives across hospitals, schools, and public spaces. In Rajasthan, Ajmer Sharif Dargah is distributing 4,000 kg of vegetarian langar. In Gujarat, businesses in Surat are offering discounts ranging from 10% to 100% across sectors such as hospitality, retail, and transportation.
