PM Modi attacks Congress over Bharat Ratna for Ambedkar, claims party has hatred towards him
PM Modi criticized Congress in his Rajya Sabha speech, accusing them of historically ignoring Dr. BR Ambedkar and prioritizing family interests, specifically targeting the Nehru-Gandhi family. He claimed that Congress's politics revolve around lie...
The BJP leader claimed that while the Congress government did not bestow the Bharat Ratna on Dr. Ambedkar during its rule, today, they were "forced to say 'Jai Bhim'" as a part of their political rhetoric.
"Congress had a deep-seated hatred and anger towards Dr. Ambedkar," PM Modi said. "They made every effort to defeat him twice in the Lok Sabha elections."
"Congress government did not give Bharat Ratna to B R Ambedkar, but today they are forced to say 'Jai Bhim'...We are realising the dreams of Babasaheb Ambedkar through PM Mudra Scheme," he added while addressing the Upper House.
His comments were aimed at highlighting Congress's supposed attempts to sideline Ambedkar and his contributions to the nation.
'Family first' policies
PM Modi also took a sharp aim at the Congress party over it's policies, accusing the grand old party of prioritising "family first" in its politics. He further attacked the party for being mired in lies, cheating, appeasement, and nepotism.
PM Modi emphasized that Congress’s political framework revolves primarily around ensuring the interests of one family, a thinly veiled reference to the Nehru-Gandhi family.
"Congress party's priority is 'family first' and its policies around it. Congress model is mixture of lies, cheating, appeasement and nepotism. Those who were with Congress during Lok Sabha polls are now running away," he said.
