NEW DELHI: Accusing Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his government of "misleading" the nation on the nuclear deal issue, BJP on Wednesday demanded a clear-cut statement on what they intended to do and vowed to press for voting on the matter if a special session of Parliament is convened.
The opposition party, which disrupted most of the sittings of the previous Parliament session, said it will participate in the debate on nuclear deal.
"The government is confused," BJP spokesman Prakash Javadekar told reporters here while reiterating his party's opposition to the agreement with the US.
Alleging that the Prime Minister and the government are "giving misleading statements on the nuclear deal", he said they are not telling, either the nation or even the US, what they want to do.
BJP wants to know in clear terms what the government intends to do with the deal, Javadekar said while noting that the US was also "setting deadlines" on the issue.
The party will, however, demand voting on the issue, the BJP spokesman said.
