NEW DELHI: As parts of efforts to end the face-off between UPA government and Left parties on Indo-US nuclear deal, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Friday had a dinner meeting with West Bengal Chief Minister and CPIM) leder Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee here.

The meeting was "good, very good", Bhattacharjee told reporters in reply to a question after the two-hour meeting at the official residence of the Prime Minister. He declined to say anything further.

Sources said Bhattacharjee would brief the CPI(M) politburo meeting here tomorrow on his talks with the Prime Minister.

Singh had three days back spoken to Bhattacharjee on the nuclear deal when the Chief Minister said that CPI(M) has taken a "principled" stand on the issue.
