Plea filed in Supreme Court seeking CJI's recusal from Bofors case

NEW DELHI: BJP leader and Supreme Court lawyer Ajay Aggarwal, has filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking the recusal of Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra from the Bofors case.

"The CJI has already made up his mind to dismiss the case," he said, explaining why he had filed such a plea. The CJI also allowed senior advocate and Congress leader Kapil Sibal to speak in the case at the last hearing.

Sibal has appeared in the case for the Hindujas earlier, he said.


Aggarwal also said that there was no need for the CBI to file a fresh appeal in the case. The AG had opined that the CBI should not file an appeal because of the long delay in the case.

Aggarwal said that though the CBI need not file a separate appeal, but it could support his appeal.
