PLA claims responsibility for attack on Assam Rifles post

The People's Liberation Army, a banned militant outfit, today claimed responsibility for yesterday's attack on the post of Assam Rifles at Manipur-Myanmar border.

IMPHAL: The People's Liberation Army, a banned militant outfit, today claimed responsibility for yesterday's attack on the post of Assam Rifles at Manipur-Myanmar border.

A spokesman of the Revolutionary People's Front (RPF), political wing of the PLA, told local media that the attack was carried out by PLA cadres.

Official sources had yesterday said identity of the militants who attacked the security post of 9th Assam Rifles battalion at Behiang border village in Churachandpur district, was not known.

There was no casualty on the side of the security personnel who had retaliated the fire, the sources had said.
