Pilots licence scam: DGCA unearths another scam

NEW DELHI: The fake pilots licence scam has just got murkier as the aviation regulator has discovered cases where pilots have furnished wrong personal details in order to obtain licences, apart from forging marksheets.

“We are largely through with the process of scanning pilots’ licences for fake marksheets, except a few cases where we have noticed a contradiction in personal particulars,” said E K Bharat Bhushan, Director General of Civil Aviation.

Details like one’s own name and father’s name were not matching in some pilots’ documents, Bhushan said, declining to divulge any further details.

When asked if this could be a separate scam altogether, Bhushan said, “Our office is still verifying the suspected cases and so we can’t conclude anything now.”
